Arabic first, not translated
Plenty of stores serving the Gulf have an Arabic version that reads like a translation, because it is one. Shoppers notice. This is what we think Arabic first means for a fashion store, and how Mira is built around it.
Translation is the floor
Swapping English strings for Arabic ones gets you a store that technically speaks Arabic. It does not get you a store that feels made for the person reading it. The gap shows up in three places: the layout, the voice and the clothes.
Right to left, everywhere
Right-to-left is more than aligning text to the right. Navigation, buttons, chat bubbles, icons that point somewhere and the order of steps all have to flip. A try-on panel or chat window that stays left-to-right inside an Arabic page is the kind of detail shoppers read as "this was not built for me". Mira's Arabic experience is right-to-left from the first pixel, including the stylist.
Write the way people talk
Formal Arabic is correct and distant. Shopping is neither. Mira's Arabic copy is written for the Gulf rather than translated line by line, and the stylist answers in Arabic by text or voice. Ask it "Wedding next week. Abaya or jalabiya?" and you get an opinion back, not a list of options.
Render the clothes people actually wear
A try-on that only handles jeans and T-shirts misses most of a Gulf wardrobe. Flowing abayas, kanduras with a bisht, embroidered evening jalabiyas: these are the pieces shoppers want to see on themselves before an occasion, and the ones Mira is built to render.
A short checklist for your store
- Write Arabic product titles and descriptions properly. Shoppers read them before anything else.
- In Mira, open Appearance and set the default language, display name and greeting for your Arabic shoppers.
- In your theme's Mira app embed, use Stylist button position so the button sits on the side that suits your layout, for example Right (left in Arabic).
- Test the whole flow on a phone in Arabic before you go live: product page, try-on, stylist, cart.
Mira supports English and Arabic on every plan. Read the Shopify setup guide or see pricing.
